    Our Team

    Financial Markets Operations provides value added services to the global FM business across US, Germany and UK. Collectively we:

  • Enable :We contribute to increased Sales & Trading productivity through effective trade and post trade operational support. We are trusted advisors for the business and take responsibilities for front to back trade exception management and resolution.
  • Protect : We are responsible or the correct risk representation at point of capture and throughout the trade lifecycle. We are product specialists and ensure new products and new business opportunities are effectively operationalized.
  • Improve : We adopt a continuous improvements mindset and strive to reduce Cost per Transaction through continuously challenging the status quo. We focus on Trade Capture STP improvement to mitigate fraud and operational risk and deliver scalable services back to the business.
  • Connect : We are accountable and responsible for all T0 activities and act as a conduit between Front Office and the other enablement ad operation teams. We act as a Global Team and communicate clearly and with respect in line with SCB values.

    • Responsibilities

  • Lead the AG FMO team in line with the FMO operating standards in order to support and enable the local business growth aspirations.
  • Lead and represent FMO in strategic programmes to enable the bank to meet regulatory objectives and simplification targets.
  • Ensure alignment with the Global Financial Market Operations strategic roadmap, the bank simplification and re-platforming agenda and growth strategy.
  • Responsible to monitor daily adherence of SLA by Offshore Service Providers.
  • Responsible for AG specific Operational Processes not in scope with service provided by Offshore Service Providers.
  • Responsible for the operational relationship with AG tier 1 and tier 2 clients.
  • Provide mission critical data points and support the correct execution of the AG FMO Governance Framework.
  • Operate as a first line of defence for the FM Front Office in their daily operations.
  • Adherence to Ops Risk Framework standards of implementation and process management: Continuous review of procedures and booking model,Continuous management of process taxonomy and service catalogue,Lead and support yearly completion of RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment).
  • Represent the group in Ops Risk forums and Audit / governance committees.
  • Responsible for testing activities for Tech changes impacting AG.
  • Support AG FMO Governance Head with new products and variations to existing products assessment.
  • New business enablement and solutions, partner to deliver strategic FM initiatives: Drive Operational readiness for new business areas,Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Standard Chartered, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

    • Requirements

  • Proven working experience in supporting financial markets with knowledge of banking products.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and FM Operational processes.
  • Proven operational risk and controls experience, ability to identify, assess, and mitigate gaps and risks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Financial Markets (MIFID).
  • Proven track record of improving processes and demonstrating successful teamwork.
  • Attention to detail, takes initiative to broaden his/her knowledge and demonstrates appropriate financial/analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate issues and ideas to Operations supervisors and management.
  • Sound time management skills to be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task and ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, German skills will be an added advantage.
