Role overview:
Accounting Technology team builds systems to support firm's EOD position/ pnl management systems and Backoffice applications for teams across Balyasny.
Our team's major clients include the Fund Accounting, Valuation Control, Tax , Portfolio Managers, the Client Relationship Group, and Senior Firm Management.
The team is engaged in a multi-year effort to build next generation Middle Back-office systems, support onboarding of new business development, and contribute to the overall growth of the firm.
Accounting Technology team is looking for a strong Lead to drive key projects and help build teams in strategic locations like Warsaw and Asia.
The lead will drive the design and implementation of a highly scalable analytics architecture.
He or She will handle all aspects of stakeholder management, including gathering requirements, communicating updates, and troubleshooting issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of accounting technology solutions.
• Guide the team in adopting best practices for code quality, architecture, and DevOps.
• Collaborate with product, finance, and global tech teams to deliver business value.
• Ensure platforms are reliable, recoverable, and scalable to meet business growth.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers at all levels.
• Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years software development experience in financial services industry, preferably in asset management
• 2+ years' experience leading technology teams and/or large-scale projects
• Deep expertise in an object-oriented programming languages such C# (preferred)
• Experience designing and implementing cloud native applications. Experience with enterprise messaging systems.
• Project management experience with an ability to run multiple concurrent projects
• Large scale data and database experience, Snowflake, etc.
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate to all levels across the firm
• Bachelor's or advanced degrees in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or closely related field required
• Desirable but not essential to have experience in Middle BackOffice Systems, Accounting systems like Geneva.
