IDEAS NCBR Sp. z o.o. is a research and development centre operating in the field of artificial intelligence and digital economy, whose mission is to support the development of these technologies in Poland by creating a platform that connects the academic and business environments.

IDEAS NCBR Sp. z o.o. is a part of the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR Group). Our goal is to build in Poland the largest, friendly to conduct innovative research platform, to educate a new generation of scientists focused on the practical application of the developed algorithms and their subsequent commercialization in the industry, finance, medicine and other branches of the economy.

As a team member, you will have the opportunity to work in the team led by Adam Karczmarz, PhD, whose research is focused on theorical and practical aspects of graph algorithms.

DESCRIPTION OF YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will cooperate with scientists carrying out research and development work related to issues such as:

• planning and theoretical analysis of graph algorithms – in particular within the upcoming project NCN (summary)
• implementation and experimental evaluation of graph algorithms on the modern parallel machines,
• other related scientific issues.

Your work will be research-focused with minimal teaching responsibilities: teaching a minimum of 60 hours per year.

THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• a degree (Master's or equivalent) in computer science, information technology or a related discipline from a leading university,
• solid understanding of the mathematics and IT basics in terms of: algorithms and data structures, computational complexity, discrete mathematics, probability theory and linear algebra,
• programming skills,
• fluency in English.
  experience in science work or programming contests in regard to algorithms would be nice to have.

• entitlement to a share of IDEAS NCBR's income from the commercialisation of the results of the work (in particular in the form of licences or disposal of intellectual property rights) or,
• entitlement to subscribe for shares or stocks in a spin-out company commercialising such solutions,
• sponsoring a doctoral school in Poland and abroad,
• budget for travel to the best scientific conferences and for, internships and study visits,
• participation in research and development projects implementing the latest solutions in the field of artificial intelligence,
• a competence development programme and conducting research with the help of experienced scientists,
• support in accommodation for the duration of stay at IDEAS NCBR headquarter (PhD students from outside Warsaw).
