    Our Cyber Security organisation enables GSK to take on some of the biggest healthcare challenges in the world by protecting our business, customers, and patients from cyber risks.     In this ever-evolving digital and technology landscape, it is critical to stay on top of issues that could cause us harm. This requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity concepts, techniques, and trends along with critical thinking. Our Cyber Security teams are continuously learning and developing their skills to protect against bad actors, allowing GSK to stay focused on what matters most – getting ahead of disease together.

    As a Senior Security Solutions Engineer specializing in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) and data stream solutions, your role is pivotal in fortifying our cybersecurity landscape. Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SIEM and SOAR platforms, ensuring robust threat detection, incident response, and automated workflows. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our security posture, utilizing your expertise to identify and mitigate risks effectively. Your contributions will play a key role in safeguarding our digital assets against evolving threats and ensuring resilient and adaptive security infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Handle day-to-day implementation, monitoring and operational support of hardware, software, customer applications, managed solutions and service provider relationships.
  • Implement technical and business requirements for SIEM, SOAR and data stream tools, participate in project reviews, documentation processes.
  • Facilitate complex technology changes on multiple platforms with global customers.
  • Respond to and handle service and escalation tickets within SLA expectations.
  • Actively participate in security team meetings that facilitate secure technical and business design.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities based on data.
  • Knowledge transfer and communication of designs and/or implementation plans.
  • Develop security test plans from architectural design. Identify deficiencies and make enhancements to ensure production is not impacted.
  • Support and provide analysis of service initiatives and technology changes, as directed.

    • Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in implementing and leading IT solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in general CyberSecurity.
  • General knowledge of SIEM and SOAR systems (e.g. Splunk), threat intelligence platforms, security automation and orchestration solutions, IDS/IPS, and endpoint encryption.
  • Proficient with scripting in Python and shell.
  • Experience in cloud computing technologies, including software-, infrastructure and platform-as-a-service environments.
  • Solid understanding of network and web protocols.
  • Highly technical and analytical expertise, with a proven deep background in technology design, implementation, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesize information and make service recommendations.
  • Proven ability to engage with business and 3rd party stakeholders and communicate service issues in their terms.
  • Application Development/Scripting/Automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (esp. Azure) is a plus.
  • Experience with container technologies is a plus.
