    The Senior Manager, Global Transparency Operations is part of the Global Payment Transparency (GPT) team that is responsible for fulfilling AstraZeneca's external payment disclosure obligations across Europe, the United States. The Global Payment Transparency team is part of the overall Compliance Legal and Contracting Operations (CLCO) function within the Global Business Services aligned in Finance.

    The Senior Manager will be partnering with the GPT EUCAN Tower Director in the constant development, execution, and delivery of the Global Payment Transparency services.

    The Senior Manager plays pivotal role in team's delivery by leading team's efforts, supporting and coordinating tasks across the team, coordinating projects and internal collaboration.

    Working in a complex, matrixed high activity fast-paced environment, the Senior Manager will be responsible for managing technical aspects of projects, associated risks, and partnering with the GPT stakeholders in issues and incident management as well as continuous process improvements, adding value to GPT processes.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Acquire and maintain updated in-depth understanding of reporting requirements across various countries' disclosure obligations to be able to manage, support and address inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Partnership with the Global Transparency Team Leads in the development and delivery of the overall organization's GPT services
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to implement a consistent approach to the data validation and other activities contributing to final transparency disclosure.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in the understanding, use and integration of the global payment transparency system
  • Serve as point of contact for various activity owners, business process partners, internal and external suppliers relative to payment and transparency reporting processes and procedures
  • Respond to and support the team in handling queries from management and key stakeholders as needed.
  • Execution of data reconciliation and quality checks in partnership with local market contacts to monitor completeness and accuracy of reports throughout the year
  • Ensuring that various payment transparency disclosure reports are updated across AstraZeneca EUCAN in required localized formats within predefined timelines to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Identify and report on risks and incidents in GPT services to ensure continuous process improvements and other system enhancements in GPT services
  • Support internal and external audits of payment transparency data, e.g., IRO and Internal Audit, as necessary
  • Support driving and embedding a culture of ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Project Management Component:

  • Provide support including but not limited to internal and external change management, communication and training programs, project planning, development and tracking, intranet sites
  • Manage collation and analysis of business information, ensure consolidation and maintenance of up-to-date procedural documentation
  • May be asked to support or lead initiatives around MDM management and cleansing, disputes and resolutions, pre-disclosure, vendor training, and audit remediation.
  • Support monitoring of progress of initiatives and work streams through scorecards and metrics
  • Liaise appropriately and proactively coordinate with key stakeholders to deliver on assigned responsibilities.
  • Critical requirements:

    The candidate must be a strong hands-on self-starter, detail oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal, effective communication and collaboration, advanced critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

    Minimum Specific Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (ideally Accounting, Finance)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP, and purchase to pay systems / processes, Procurement.
  • Experience in finance, auditing, quality assurance/control, SOX and/or risk management
  • Understanding of payment transparency principles
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle competing projects simultaneously.
  • Exquisite ethical, collaborative, and influencing skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including data and reporting software programs.
  • Preferred Background:

  • Additional certifications (e.g., CPA)
  • Experience in or with the biopharmaceutical industry or a consulting firm working with pharmaceutical clients
  • Experience with providing data quality control/assurance
  • Understanding of Research and Development (R&D) and/or Commercial operations
  • Working knowledge of / experience with payment transparency requirements in Europe (EFPIA), the US (Open Payments or formerly Sunshine Act)
  • Global / cross-cultural experience
