    For one of our clients, an IT services company, we are looking for a MySQL Administrator.


    Responsibilities:
    1. Database Administration: Oversee the setup, configuration, and continual upkeep of MySQL databases. Ensure optimal levels of performance, availability, and security.
    2. Performance Optimization: Engage in fine-tuning and optimizing MySQL queries and server configurations. Monitor and analyze performance metrics to proactively address potential issues.
    3. Query Optimization: Enhance SQL queries and provide guidance to developers for effective database interactions.
    4. Backup and Recovery: Create and execute robust backup and recovery plans to protect data and minimize downtime.
    5. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues promptly, collaborating with cross-functional teams as necessary.
    6. Scripting and Automation: Employ scripting languages to automate routine tasks and streamline operational processes within the database.
    7. Collaborate closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to fulfill business requirements.
    8. Security Management: Implement and enforce MySQL security protocols to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
    9. Database Design and Planning: Offer insights into schema design and optimization, contributing to strategic database planning.
    10. Disaster Recovery Planning: Contribute to the creation and testing of disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime during critical situations.
    Job Requirements:
    1. Must have experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining MySQL databases.
    2. Demonstrate proficiency in ensuring high performance, availability, and security of databases.
    3. Possess skills in conducting performance tuning and optimization of MySQL queries and server configurations.
    4. Ability to monitor and analyze database performance metrics to proactively address potential issues.
    5. Expertise in optimizing SQL queries and providing guidance to developers for efficient database interactions.
    6. Experience in developing and implementing robust backup and recovery strategies for MySQL databases to safeguard data and minimize downtime.
    7. Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly, including collaboration with cross-functional teams when necessary.
    8. Proficient in scripting languages to automate routine database tasks and streamline operational processes.
    9. Ability to work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to meet business requirements effectively.
    10. Proficient in implementing and enforcing MySQL security protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    11. Ability to contribute to database design decisions, offering insights into schema design and optimization.
    12. Experience in contributing to the development and testing of disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime in critical scenarios.
    13. Familiarity with implementing and managing strategies for database scaling and high availability to support growing business needs.
