Job summary
The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military,economic and environmental,and human aspects.The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is the principal institution of the OSCE responsible for the human dimension.OIHIR's monitoring mandate is based on a number of commitments.HRD collects thematic and country-based information on the human rights situation in pSs based on OSCE commitmentsand international human rights standards.In this regard,the extra-budgetary (ExB) Human Rights Monitoring Fund under the HRD envisages three types of activities:1)rapi dresponse;2)country specific monitoring of the situation of human rights defenders;3)enhancing th eaccessibilityof capacity-building tools forhuman rightsmonitoring.H RDhas extensive experienceof conducting monitoring activitiesin line with its mandate.Since2022,O IHRhas been implementing rapid response activity(1 )underthe Fundin order to monitor violations o f international humanitarian law(IHL).Inthe light o f regional changing contextsandsecurity challenges HRDis seeking an Associate Research Co-ordinator to monitorand analyse potential IHRLand IHLviolations through open source monitoring togather,sor tandexamine datafrom publicly available sources,includingsocialmedia,videolandimage-sharing websites,mappingtoolsandsatelliteimagery.
