As a Net Fire Systems Engineer you will be primarily responsible for architecting and automating infrastructure and supporting systems.

On-call 24/7 is required as a part of this role.

Location Policy Contracting Entity :
Candidates will be contracted via our US-based entity, however candidates may reside in any country.

Work Location :
Fully remote position, allowing candidates to work from any location with consistent internet access.

US Collaboration :
Our primary hours are 9 AM - 5 PM EST.

While candidates can be flexible with their work hours, some overlap with US working hours is essential for effective collaboration.

Communication :
Active communication and participation in virtual meetings with teams from the US and respective EU countries are expected.

Education High School diploma or equivalent.

Degree in IT-related field and/or certifications are a bonus but not required.

Experience Required Minimum 6 years experience of general or relevant specialized focus in a system operations role Intermediate to advanced experience with at least one of the following languages in an internal/backend context: Golang Python Bash Experience with multiple *NIX/Linux systems (RHEL-based prioritized, Debian-based a plus)

Experience with KVM/QEMU Experience with Nginx Desired (In addition to above Required experience):

Experience with Ceph/Red Hat Ceph Storage Experience with ELK stack/Wazuh Working experience with SELinux Intermediate to advanced experience with at least one additional language of the following in an internal/backend context: Golang Python Rust Bash Powershell Lua Experience with Libvirt and/or o Virt Experience with LDAP Experience with i PXE/PXE Experience with Saltstack Experience with Red Hat Kickstart/Debian Preseed Other Requirements Tech Enthusiasm : A genuine interest in technology is essential.

To enable this, systems automation is required in order to expedite the provisioning of orders and expansion of infrastructure and to minimize the labor involved in doing so as well

, Systems Management:

Another critical responsibility is day to day oversight of the management of systems both including our infrastructure systems and customer hosts in our cloud environment.

This includes managing monitoring systems and ensuring that all systems are effectively monitored for failures and issues, ensuring that backups are kept up to date, identifying performance problems and resolving them, and tracking larger issues

Systems that the engineer creates should be documented and documentation should be maintained regarding the operation of Net Fire's systems operations in general

, Systems Planning:

The engineer is expected to closely work with the Network Operations and Hardware Operations teams for optimal design of infrastructure and related services
