Meet the team behind this journey

Thanks to our unique neural networks, DeepL is able to deliver the world's best quality translations. To keep it that way, we are constantly improving our apps and adding exciting new features - and this is where your experience in developing sophisticated software comes in.

By joining our Glossary & Customization Team, you will be developing C# backend services (running on .NET Core on Linux) for products that help millions of people and businesses in their everyday lives. This team is part of DeepL's Product Horizontals track and has the mission of enabling workflows extending beyond one-off text translations, by providing user-facing teams with a scalable and easy-to-use platform and delivering new features to our customers. This team has full ownership of DeepL's popular Glossary feature, and in future will take the lead on new features designed to further personalize the translation experience and workflow for individual customers. You will be part of a highly motivated team that values easy to maintain and efficient code, where important design decisions are made by the whole group in open discussions.

    Your responsibilities

    • Design, implement and maintain reliable, scalable and backend services for DeepL's Glossary feature and other new customization services in future
    • Closely collaborate with frontend developers in our team to provide a great UX to our customers
    • Contribute to monitoring and debugging the services in production, e.g. by defining expressive metrics and ensuring expressive logs
    • Collaborate across teams to define shared interfaces and ensure smooth operation in production
