    The Global Capex Category Lead is a new role to accelerate the capability uplift in the procurement of Engineering, Process Equipment and supporting Capital project delivery. This role bears responsibility for facilitating swift and dependable project execution while effectively navigating uncertainties. Some of its primary objectives is to achieve maximum value from third-party spending while operating within a finite funding framework, and to foster a procurement environment focused on long-term performance, competitive advantage, safety, and sustainability while minimizing total cost of ownership.

    In the context of significant organizational transformation, you are tasked with driving and supporting the competence, capability, engagement, and motivation of project procurement, contracting, and category teams to facilitate successful delivery.

    As a strategic leadership role, it requires robust engagement with senior stakeholders within JM and strategic supplier partners to support effective project delivery. The role manages the risks of supply failure, cost escalation and quality whilst always ensuring products and services are delivered in line with business needs.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Leverage supply market knowledge and tools that drive innovative sourcing solutions within the categories.
  • Leverage price forecasts, market intelligence and cost analysis.
  • Drive category and supplier innovation as well as continuous improvement across value-chain, acting as a role model around quality and process standards.
  • Convert the category strategy to an effective sourcing and action plan. Define and mobilize the cross functional team required to deliver the plan.
  • Ensure supply chain/sourcing strategy, practices and initiatives are aligned with the company's business objectives and support the company's growth strategy.
  • Develop breakthrough savings ideas, associated savings & improvement plans.
  • Develop & manage appropriate supplier relationships with key BU stakeholders and lead the management of the performance of EPCM & Key prime contractors / equipment suppliers.
  • Requirements for the role:

  • Background in managing procurement activities related to capital expenditure programs or categories is a must.
  • Work experience in a mature procurement organization, ideally within industries such as chemical, oil & gas, life science, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across different cultures and geographical regions, including managing stakeholders and colleagues remotely across various time zones.
  • Experience in Global Matrix organization(s).
  • Experience demonstrating strategic leadership capabilities and expertise in category management.
  • Business or technical bachelor's degree / member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS).
  • Full professional proficiency in English language.
