    For our growing procurement team, we are currently looking for Cost Engineering Expert, who will be responsible for cost analysis and cost optimization during development and the entire life cycle. Our Cost Engineers collaborate with purchasing and R&D for all KION ITS EMEA plants and projects.

    • Tasks and Qualifications:

  • You will prepare detailed calculations (pre- and post-calculation) including tool cost estimation for new development, series and projects
  • You will analyze offers and cost break downs from suppliers and proposing optimization measures
  • You will provide technical manufacturing advice to design engineers for in-house production and purchased parts in all phases of the development process
  • You will support the purchasing department during awarding and price negotiations
  • You will participate in technical discussions with potential suppliers for new projects and in case of supplier changes
  • You will conduct supplier workshops with value stream analysis and detailed technological discussion
  • You will collaborate on cost reduction and value analysis projects
  • You will be responsible for development of production concepts (calculation models) taking into account suitable machines, devices and tools
  • You will deal with new and further development of cycle time calculators for various production technologies
  • You will further develop IT tools for calculation, analysis and tracking

    • What will you need to succeed in the role?

    Must-have:

  • Bachelor or Master's in business, engineering, or equivalent university degree preference is technical background or relevant experience (min. 3 years) in industrial engineering, vehicle manufacturing, or supply industry
  • Detailed knowledge in forging manufacturing, and deep understanding of the production process
  • Deep insight into shop floor conventions and potentially shop floor management
  • Economic skills and experience in overhead calculation
  • Fluent English
  • Willing to travel (~25%)

    • Nice-to-have:

  • Working knowledge of different procurement tools
  • Knowledge of German, French or Italian
  • Additional know-how in plastics fabrication, sheet metal & welding, or electrics & electronics manufacturing
  • Experience with professional calculation software, purchasing platforms and CAD
