    • You are an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in leading teams and implementing SRE practices across complex ecosystems.
    • You have a proven ability to manage stakeholders, mentor engineers, and drive reliability improvements across diverse platforms.

    You'll Get Extra Points For

    • Experience in leading SRE efforts for brand-new applications and platforms.
    • Familiarity with agile platforms and rapid scaling environments.
    • Hands-on experience with ELK stack, Prometheus + Grafana.
    • Exposure to enterprise scheduling tools (TWSd, UAC).
    • Proficiency in Python scripting and Ansible.
    • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and Git workflows.
    • Experience applying SRE concepts to front-office banking processes.
    • Advanced academic background (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
    • Leadership and management training.
    • A strong understanding of Agile Ways of Working and a proactive mindset aligned with ING's Orange Code.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Ensure system reliability through proactive monitoring, chaos testing, and issue resolution.
    • Team Leadership: Lead and grow a team of SREs, establish incident/problem management processes, and drive stakeholder communication.
    • Capacity Planning: Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to assess and plan system capacity.
    • Technical Risk & Health Assessment: Conduct regular health checks to identify and remediate deviations from baseline.
    • Service Level Management: Monitor SLAs and ensure accountability across IT teams for performance and reliability.
    • IT Key Controls: Maintain compliance and provide audit evidence for IT controls.
    • Automation & Tooling: Design and implement bots and tools to automate operational tasks and improve system performance.
    • Incident & Problem Management: Coordinate incident response and post-mortems, participate in on-call rotations.
    • Disaster Recovery & BCP: Develop and test DR runbooks and ensure business continuity.
    • Production Reporting: Deliver accurate reports on system availability, reliability, performance, and capacity.

The squad is distributed across multiple locations and works closely with BizDevOps teams, IT Engineering, Security, and Architecture. The team is in a maturing phase, offering a unique opportunity to shape its direction, improve observability, and implement robust SRE practices. Collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.
